Recently and on request, Orbitracs developed the possibility to equip the OPM systems with multiple feeds; two or three.

Multi feed operation is well known and applied since long time. And this on fixed antennas where it is employed to receive multi satellites from different directions (i.e. orbit positions)

The major interest of multi feeds on OPM systems is somewhat different. It allows to access all visible satellites in different frequency bands and/or polarizations. For this, the software will apply different offsets to the pointing depending on the feed that is selected.

The only restrictive condition is that the different functions should not be required simultaneously but intermittently.

The command-line interface has been expanded with the appropriate commands, as well as the SNMP interface option. And also the Orbitracs Windows interface has been adapted:

To note that the multi feed items will only appear in the window for stations that are actually equipped with multiple feeds.

And finally that the multi feed system can be retro-fitted and is in-field configurable.
